Jake Whittenberg is an Emmy Award winning broadcast journalist. But television is just the tip of the iceberg!. Jake has been performing and telling stories since he was 5 years old, helping his mom Gayle write a series of newspaper articles in Southern Illinois. Since that time he's moved around a lot while his dad Bruce ran newspapers across the country.
Jake began as a performer in Speech Competitions at a very young age, where he competed at National level in Phoenix, AZ becoming one of the top High School performers in the country. He studied Film Montana State University-Bozeman and New York University. He immediately started working as a "Stand-in" and Personal Assistant on several film and television sets. His highlights include reading lines with Academy Award winner Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard, then becoming an assistant to Dave Matthews on a music video. Jake made several films of his own, and earned "Best Fiction Film of the Year" in 2004 at the Montana Tracy Awards. To stay grounded, Jake spent time with his Improv Troupe that performed to audiences every week.
After graduating college Jake followed in his parents jounalistic footsteps and became a Reporter/Anchor for KTVQ-Television in BIllings Montana. When Hurricane Katrina hit land in 2005, Jake became the only Montana reporter to travel to the Gulf Coast where he filed reports for two weeks. He became recognized and made the quick jump to Reporter at WSYX/WTTE-Television in Columbus Ohio. He covered the historic 2008 Presidential Election where Ohio was center stage. He also reported live from Cedar Rapids Iowa during the unprecedented floods that devastated the region.
In 2009 Jake won a Emmy for his Breaking News coverage. He has also been awarded several times by the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists.

But it's not all work! You'll always find Jake writing, making public appearances and traveling to schools while spending time with children. He and his wife Tara love traveling and are always trying a new bottle of wine with friends. Can't find Jake or he's not answering his cell phone!?....he's probably enjoying the outdoors somewhere or teaching someone how to fly-fish.
